Gaia's Indignation

Tearing away in cellular bloom,
An emergence from maternal womb.
Crying and crying, whilst she bled and cringed,
A new life wriggled...
Laws of avarice would not be infringed.

And as you grew - you cried and craved;
All of Nature, you decreed, enslaved.
Guns to grenades - your designed assault;
While Gaia, but writhed...
Her creation had come from a bottomless vault.

Tartarus opened! It all spells doom!
Divinity devoured by unholy gloom...
Unimaginable chaos from creatures unseen!
Most holy Mother! Save us!
May thy Holy rapier smite the unclean.

Yes, she does, with a wave of her might!
Nature's fury overcomes the slightest of blight.
And so, "life" returns to it's womb...
As flesh and bone and ash and dust,
To the eerie warmth of a stone-cold tomb.
---

Just a gentle reminder... Do not play with Nature. The moment She decides to set things right, brace yourself for a pretty bumpy ride.

Powerful poem.'
And yes, good advice to NOT play with "Mother Nature". Our earth is angry at us, this I know. I see it in the unexpected storms, out of character - the destructive wars, or the recent documentary I watched about the plight of the Polar Bear unable to survive due to global warming - and yet I witness still the beauty of sunrise, the rest that follows sunset, the cycle of the moon and the oceans, the elegance of winter, the promise of Autumn, the hope of Spring and the heated passion of summer.
Lovely writing - thank you

Love Gail

Excellent,Kartz.I agree- we have hurt our mother, the 'Earths' heart... she is angry, justifiably so.
We never appreciated her beauty, the gifts she bestowed on us... au contraire,we ravaged her.
Shame.

An important lesson well told! Mother Nature has immense patience, but how long can we keep testing her? Tres bien! :)

Cяystal said...

She's actually the mother of all of us.
The true Goddess, and playing with her is a joke.

Amazing words.
:)

PS-Lol at what you wrote in the "Lady Crystal" relates part.
I don't consider you a bookworm. I'm a fraction of it myself :P..your knowledge of languages is what baffles me! :)

I love my mother nature. Message conveyed powerfully Kartz!

The nature is so beautiful...we are the ones to praise its tranquility when we stroll by the trees and smell the aroma of wet sand; and then we're the ones to cut them and make stupid chairs!!

It's a pity people don't give a damn about all this. They are busy living a life in vanity, let alone care about Our Mother Earth! It won't take a long time for Mother Nature to retaliate and say "V for Vendetta"!

I liked the strong words and the powerful imagery. Kudos!

That was very powerful! And the vocabulary used made it even more so.An important reminder for all of us.Keep up the great work!

That’s precisely how my own blog title originated... because time may be the best teacher, but it kills its pupil.

I love everything that happens, for it is by the laws of nature which everything is accomplished.
But when we do not understand them, and act immorally, mankind suffers one day. However, both sufferance and pleasure are by dictates of nature and I love them both.

Applauds....Encore...I loved the art in itself!

PS: Gaia is a beautiful name for this, and you know...in the rural areas of North, cow is known as gaiya :P :D

haye rabba!! tu inna sahi kaise likhta hai?? :O :O :O
the poem unfurled like a forceful warning to anyone who'd be foolish enough to test the wrath of mother nature. when i was reading it, the picture of a huge fierce man, with white flowy hair and a pitchfork came to mind, towering over a trembling mankind, cursing them.. "fools! look what you've done" :D :P well done mate!

Wonderful theme, and exploited well...
There is a pedantic touch with a simplicity of imagery, and a poweful message..

Indeed, we shall go ashes to ashes and dust to dust in no time if we do not do something about protecting Gaia!

hmmm ... nice one ... why don't you try writing a poem without any big words ... a poem that a class 8 kid could understand ... Do u know why this request .... In recent times i have realised it is very complesx to effectively convey stuff using simple words ... As simple words lack intensity of emotion.. y nt give it a try ???
