She

There she stands - head held high.
She wants no aid.
No, none at all... She resides,
Behind a bulwark barricade.

She wants no part of them people.
For unto her, they had brought only harm and hurt.
She stands alone - all by herself,
The stoic and stony introvert...

Her life, she leads the way she wants.
And in the darkness of night,
Those shy, silent tears, she lets weep
As she awaits a new day’s light.

Okay… I am my worst critic; this isn’t the best of poetry that I have written. A writer’s block coupled with pending assessments is a pretty lethal combination :( Ah well…

Hey! I heard today is/was International Men’s Day… And I came up with this post? Just a humble attempt; dedicated to womanhood and the stoic women I have met in my twenty-two (and counting) journeys around the sun. Peace be upon ye.

Beautiful.... There is so much of the girl power thought in mah head right now!!!!
So this blog makes me more ecstatic as I read it. :) :)
but it also conveys a lot...
I think every girl by nature is very soft-hearted and loving(we are made that way... its only as she grows up that she learns to stand up for her own self!!!!
Its a lovely poem...
cheers

I wud disagree with all your critics even if its U :P..
what a poem for men's day..
U do realise the truth that a man is never complete without a woman, be it his mother or his wife..
good work there buddy!

I loved the effect and the art ...your english is so flawless that it gives a beautiful concept
a generalised concept though it may be...
The quality of not showing emotions has rarely been a case of 'don't', if it has been, i respect them for the composition and calmth they have shown-that indeed is an admirable quality, to nto let your emotions influence others...

but if these emotions still continue to influence your own self, i say that little has been gained. The real strngth of character comes when rationality and love for nature overtakes these emotions...when real understanding comes...

:)
I must apprciate your art again...
Its so wonderful...
