A reason to Pray...

My search goes on, seemingly vain…

Traumatic times are a regular phase.
For at each turn, I behold only pain.
Oh why should my people see such days?

I see my land bathed in innocents' blood…
I fear her future is decreed thus bleak.
As I await His light – the cleansing flood.
I remain entranced by this surreal mystique.

I hear a moan, I hear a cry…
The land is too blood-soaked to till.
As we wait for it all to dry;
The twisted folk deem more blood, to spill!

What times are these, which we live in…?
Beneath clouds so dark and skies so grey.
I listen’d to tales of the Devil’s grin…
And unto Frey, did I turn to pray.

O Lord! May Thy rule stay Divine…
For our hours on ye Earth are entirely Thine.
I pray – as this sun sets in decline,
It brings peace upon this beloved land of mine!
---

I wrote this in the wee hours of today. My sincere condolences go out to the families of (Anti-Terrorism Squad Chief) Hemant Karkare, (Additional Commissioner) Ashok Kamte, (encounter specialist Inspector) Vijay Salaskar and all those bereaved. I fervently hope things return to normalcy soon.

Contorted Reality

A time to be together, to stay unified. No we won't be scared! Once I saw it on TV, I was shocked, and wondered if we have really 'progressed'! Every time terror shows us its disgusting face, and we are standing helpless! Hope the situation improves...after all hope is all I have!

Spoken and shared so beautifully.

Amen. To peace. To peace. To peace.

We shall overcome, and show them that we are made of sterner stuff.

Heartfelt condolences to the ones who lost their loved ones. And salutes to the brave ones once again for bringing them to their knees.

so easily destroyed,
so difficult to build,
so many of my sons,

Enough of destruction,
I crave for peace,
I, Mother India, pray,
For violence to cease!!

Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

In the goodness of time, all peoples will come to live together in a peace guaranteed by the binding force of mutual respect and love.

Beautifully put! Touching pic too.

Alot of ppl r hurting, crying and moaning the deaths of so many innocents. I honor the brave men who lost their lives in this senseless ordeal...they were true heroes!

One day I shall wake up and feel global Peace...and if on that day Im not alive, its ok. Cos I hope the innocent children of today will see that Peace some day, if not me.

Let there be light!

Keshi.

rampantheart said...

Beautifully penned. Well done.

It's sad indeed that so many lives had to be lost in the catastrophe. It's even sadder when the politicians and higher officials do not know the value of a human being. It's the saddest when it comes to the fact that our city remained indifferent to whatever that was happening. Did you notice how our TV channels displayed just a few headlines about the massacre? It was a namesake stuff. The politicians sure have done their best in bringing out the divide and rule policy. How preposterous does the idea of a Tamil Nadu country sound! The helm
of this government disgusts me.

As regards the brave souls, I salute them! The gratitude I have for them is inexpressible!

Jai Hind!
